What to prepare

Complete document checklist.

Singapore visa requirements are relatively straightforward. The key is applying through the correct channel — an ICA-accredited agent — as direct applications are not accepted for Indian passport holders.

💡The agent you choose matters. ICA-accredited agents in Singapore process applications faster and with better visibility. Indian travel agents who use Singapore contacts often add unnecessary delays. Our Essential tier includes a guide to identifying reliable ICA-accredited agents.

Step by step

How to apply from India.

Singapore visa applications must go through an ICA-accredited local contact in Singapore — a travel agent, hotel, or employer in Singapore who submits on your behalf.

01

Find an ICA-accredited agent

Search for ICA-accredited agents on the ICA website (ica.gov.sg). Alternatively, use a reputable Indian travel agent who works with Singapore-based contacts. Your hotel in Singapore may also offer visa assistance.

02

Complete Form 14A

Your agent will provide Form 14A. Complete it accurately. Your agent will review before submission.

03

Submit documents to your agent

Provide your passport copy, photograph, cover letter, bank statements, and employment proof to your agent. They submit on your behalf to ICA.

04

Pay the visa fee

SGD 30 visa fee plus your agent’s service charge. Fees vary by agent — typically ₹2,000–₹4,000 total including service charge.

05

Wait for processing

3–5 working days. Your agent tracks and receives the decision from ICA.

06

Receive your visa

Visa issued as an electronic approval. Your agent sends you the visa approval notice. Print or save digitally — show at Singapore immigration on arrival.

Common questions

Everything you want to know.

  • ICA requires Indian passport holders to apply through a local contact in Singapore (an ICA-accredited entity) due to immigration policy. This has been the rule for many years and is unlikely to change. Your travel agent or hotel in Singapore is the correct channel.
  • The MJV allows multiple entries to Singapore within a 2-year period without applying for a visa each time. It is useful for frequent Singapore travellers. Each stay is limited to 30 days. The MJV costs more — SGD 60 plus agent fee — but saves time and cost over multiple visits.
  • Yes. You can apply for an extension of your Short-Term Visit Pass at the ICA building in Singapore before your current pass expires. Extensions are granted for up to 30 additional days and are at ICA’s discretion.
  • Singapore visas are issued as electronic approval notices — no sticker in the passport. Your agent will send you the approval notice as a PDF. Print it or keep it on your phone to show at Singapore Changi Airport immigration.
  • No. The Short-Term Visit Pass strictly prohibits any form of paid work. Working on a visit visa is a criminal offence in Singapore and results in deportation, fines, and a permanent ban on entry.
  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel. While standard processing is 3–5 days, giving yourself a buffer for document corrections or agent delays is wise. The visa can be obtained up to 1 month before your intended travel date.
